Is it imperative to change the wires, the cap and the rotor? I believe everything is original w/ close to 150k. Thanks!

My check book can't take this kind of abuse. lol

then take everything off very gently and try to visually inspect every item. I know that at that mileage you would WANT to replace everything (for less headaches) but you dont have to. I have a 1993 cavalier that still has the original wiring and cap (new spark plugs though) that has 188000 miles and I use that as a daily driver. My truck is a different story as it will get the sparks, wires and any other item related replaced all at the same time.

Yeah, it needs to be done, I was trying to postpone the inevitable. The truck is a daily driver, and it needs to be reliable, so bye bye to $$$, my check book hates me. lol

is it the sparks that you are looking to replace only??? or is it just the wires?

i'm with ya on the checkbook issue but remember if it's your daily driver... if you can't get to work then you can't make more $$$.

Got the plugs done already, but I didn't do the wires or the cap or the rotor yet. But I've got it on

order now, hopefully I'll have it by mid next week. And the Mrs. will be real thrilled to hear that I

have to work on the truck again. lol

I know that feeling all to well. :banghead:

I always replace them at the same time. Causes fewer problems later on.
