No try aftermarket, Gm has a liability issue if you were to drill into your roof, and mess up your truck

Pacer automotive lamps , makes the oe style kits that are also avallible in carbon smoke and amber. Comes with everything you need. Ive put together a kit for a guy and we stoped looking at like $270 with the harness and all.

Do you have a link? Is it a kit or does it only include the lights?

Yes, GM does make a roof marker lamp kit. I've always had them installed on my truck and they can be purchased from the dealer. When I ordered my 2008 1/2-ton the lamp marker kit was not an option. The dealer offered to have a private shop do it once the truck came in. I did not choose that route and I ordered them after purchasing the truck and a friend installed them for me.

The new model roof lights ran me about 270$ for everything from the dealer.

Part numbers for the `07 - `08 GM marker lights.

25826849 - right lamp

25826848 - left lamp

25826850 - center lamp

25823584 - harness

Well you can buy them from the dealer in individual pieces, however they are not available as an actual GM accessory "kit".

As sablowme said,GM does not want you adding items that were not installed at the factory, unless they are available as a GM accessory.

When you get a chance, and if it's not too much trouble for you, would you mind getting me the part numbers for the left lamp, center lamp, right lamp, and harness for a 2003 Silverado? The part numbers xGMCx are for GMT900s and I am not sure if those are the same ones used on the gGMT800s.

thanks for the assist there, MS3DALE. Thats the reason i didnt give part numbers for that 08 cuz the

guy actually had a 03. Some people are looking for something differnt but most of the time there looking for a kit to add. Its just like fog lights, If gm dosent make a "kit to add" there proboley is a good reason why.

See Vortecz71, and this is just some info on how this works as Ms3dale gets back to you because im also in GM parts myself, just used to be a gm accessory rep...for the ADI's. Anyway GM would like to offer lots of these things like fog lights, roof racks, roof marker lamps, and performance parts but they want to check them out first just to make sure no one gets sued or it dosent work and fit under gm warranty. They put a quote out to many manufacures to see who can build it, how easy does it bolt on (cuz our customers need to do this in there garage), and how much does it cost. All of this goes into affect when a new product arrives.

For example GM had the cargo management system in test vehicles back in 2001, but didnt actually go into production till the gmt 900 trucks. This is how intense the test process is. The GM hard shell tonneau covers you see on the gmt900 trucks went through vigorous test before Penda-liner could relase it to GM, The GM one is the only one moulded in color and abs plastic at the same time for now. So this gives them first to market value.

I didn't realize how much work went into making GM accessories. Now I can see why it would take so long. I've always liked the looks of roof maker lamps. I prefer to use GM accessories on my truck as opposed to aftermarket products. If I were to go with the GM roof marker lamps, it looks like I would be paying $311.40 in parts. Does anybody have any idea how long it would take take for the dealer to do the install and a rough estimate of what I should expect the labor cost to be?

Also, are roof markers on all of the time like DRLs or do they only come on when it gets dark?

I usually see them hooked up to the parking lights.

Yeah,The harness will plug into the electrical center on the RH side of the dash (You have to open-up the door to access it) and they will come on only with the parking lights (And of course the headlights also when they are on)

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
