Fred 2 Now Has A New Exhaust System!

Got the exhaust installed today. Ended up going with a Flowmaster 70 Series BB muffler and some custom bent pipes. When he removed the OEM muffler, we stuck a magnaflow on the stand and started the truck... it sounded pretty good. We then replaced it with a flowmaster and it sounded much better. Very deep tone. Not tinny at all. The sound is a lot like the last generation LT1 Camaro sounded with an exhaust on it. Pretty sporty but not overly loud at all.

 

The idle is actually not much louder than stock but has a deeper and more rounded tone. When you are on the gas, it has a nice rumble but no drone on the highway at all...

 

Here is one crappy video. It's mostly just the damn wind blowing and my wife doesn't understand the term "Stand on it" I'll post some good video once the wind dies down this weekend. It really sounds good in spite of what this video sounds like.

Didn't watch the video (don't want to wake up the house), but I'm sure it sounds great. I like the clean look of the dumped exhaust, but is there a reason you didn't just put 2 turndowns right off the muffler? Probably would've been cheaper, and easier. :D

With the shell I wanted them all the way out... plus I don't like exhaust dumped under the truck. It makes the sound from the exhaust that much closer to the cab. It might upset me and I might spill my beer. :lol:

Ahh, I always forget about the Grandpa-cap. :D

 

And you would never want to spill your beer while driving, it'll take your attention off of the road! :D

Yeah. We had a front blow in about the time I got home. Damn Texas 40 mph winds. It was nice tonight when the misses and I went out for our daily 3 mile hike. Nice and cool!
