Can't Lock Doors

Can anyone help me i have a 08' sierra ext cab and i can't lock the doors with the buttons or the remote but if you try, the security light comes on and i can hear a clicking from under the dash. If someone can help please!!

You can't lock any of the doors by manually pushing the lock down? Or do you mean by using the electronic lock button?

 

Does this happen on all doors?

no i can push the lock down but the power button doesn't work or the remote to lock it, im thinking its maybe the gm security system cause the light in the dash comes on everytime i try

It kind of sound like the truck thinks the doors are locked when the security light comes on but the lock actuators aren't getting the signal to actually lock.

 

What happens if you try to unlock with the remote or unlock button?

 

It could be a problem in the BCM that controls the power door locks.

Is it still under warranty? Take it to the dealer if it is.

yea its only 2 months old but it will unlock the drivers door with the remote

I would say take it to the dealer for warranty service. They should be able to diagnose the problem quite quickly.
