Power Steering

I had a power steering pump that was leaking out the shaft, so I replaced it. Well I had to have some help becuase I didn't know this pump had a valve regulating the fluid at certain speeds (to prevent over-steering at high speeds). I couldn't get the wire harness to align so it starting leaking from there. I took it to a shop where they fixed that problem, when I drove it home, I got roughly a quarter mile and when I went to turn it felt like there was no pump on Tank (the name for my suburban) at all. I took it back and he couldn't figure it out as well, so he swapped that pump out with a new one (that would be two pumps). IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING. it seems like when it gets hot it gets harder to steer, or when you press on the brakes it does.

The guys at the shop don't know what to do and I have very limited troubleshooting skills. My next guess would be the steering gear box itself.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

The suburban is a 1999 K1500, 350 cu in.
