The Best Power Programmer For 07 5.3?

I need opinions and experience on the best power programmer on the market for a 2007 Yukon 5.3 with displacement on demand. I like the Edge Evolution because of the mounted in cab display, and have heard really good things, but your opinions are what I need on whats the best. I do have A K&N Cold Air intake system I want more power and to be able to adjust shift points comp. for my larger tires etc. I also have no emmisions test or DOT inspections to pass in my state. I know using a software progam and a laptop is probably the best way, but I really dont want to go that route. Finally, one more thing. An exaust system to go with the intake and a programer. good free flow without a drone sound in the cab and not much louder that stock unless gettin on it. Some exaust compainies advertise that their system will work with newer GM models the best considering the active cylinder displacement on demand stating that a V4 and A V-8 have different sounds?

You're much better off with a custom tune IMO. You can get an extra ECM so you don't have to hook up a laptop with software. Just switch out the box.

I had a Hypertech Powerprogrammer and a Diablo Predator and the custom tune kicks but on either of those. I will never go back. In fact, I opted for EFILive and a laptop so I can get email tunes from Blackbear and play.

Corsa for the exhaust. They are quiet with no drone and scream when you get on them. Driving a SUV a wouldn't get anything else.

Go with a custom tune. A hand held won't won't get all the improvements a custom tune will give. For my new Tahoe I'm going with a Corsa Sport exhaust. The milder one is the Corsa Touring exhaust.

Bish. Did you go for new PCM and TCM module for your BB tune so you can keep your stock tune if needed? I ask since I think I read somewhere that the TCM can't be swapped out on the 6 speed tranny.

I did not. I might have done a spare PCM(ECM) but I had not read about GM tracking programming yet. Also, the TCM IS in the 6-speed so no spare there. Since I use EFILive, I can save all the stock tunes to my laptop and put them back in if I want to. I've been into the dealer for the trans update for delayed downshift and they just updated it, I saved it and sent it Blackbear for a retune. I'm banking on my dealer never checking the tune unless I explode my engine which is not likely with my reasonably conservative tunes.
