95 K1500 E-brake Cable

the ebrake cable runs under the drivers side, there is what looks like a connector that ties the cable coming from the foot brake to the line that splits and goes to each rear brake drum. mine is apart at that connection point. I've tried pulling them together to rejoin them but they are about 5" apart and it's beyond my manly abilities to pull up the 5" of slack. is there another cable or something that joins these 2 pieces together? need to get my ebrake working, any help appreciated.

would love to find a site with online parts diagrams...

Are you sure the cable isn't broken? And you remembered to release the parking brake pedal before you tried to re-connect it, right? (Just trying to get the easy stuff out of the way :rollin:)

no, it doesn't appear to be broken - there is a cable end on the side coming from the released brake pedal and a cable end on the side coming from the rear that has a cable end on it as well. both meet under the drivers door on the outside of the frame and seem to be joined by a connector cage that has a keeper for each barrel end.

yep ebrake is released and I pulled the pedal towards the dash to be sure

I'll try to get a pic up later this am

Try pulling on that front cable while somebody pulls the release lever, sometimes the cable hanges up in the mechanism...

could someone take a look under their driver door next to the frame and see if these 2 cables shown in the photo above are supposed to go together via the cage shown, or is there another short cable that hooks them together? appreciate any help

can't for the life of me get these 2 cables close enough to join up, the front seems to release fine and moves back and forth when you move the ebrake foot pedal back and forth. the rear however won't budge. I'll prob take the rear drums apart to see whats going on and why I can't get any cable movement.

I have an ABS dash light on too - but its not throwing a code - so maybe the light is associated with the cable issue somehow. Is there a writeup with photos anywhere on an ABS sensor fix?
