So the time has come, I'm gettin' a tune.

I just don't know what to get.

I would like the ability of shift on the fly tunes the Edge Evo has...But they don't make one for my truck.

Cant find pricing on the Diablo trinity, Or even if they released it yet.

I have looked into, and chatted with Jesse about the tuned Comp....But haven't really looked into The XCAL2 Option. I know Pat (PWall) has one, anyone else have any exp with this?

I would Like to have the ability to change tunes and its looking like the XCAL2 is my best option, But I would just like some input on this.

Other than that, there's the Diablo Predator, and just saying screw it all and go with HP tuners as I am getting a blower in a year or so. Which is probably what I will do when I get the blower, I just want something for the time being to keep a smile on my face and the ricers in the Exhaust gasses.:loser:

Wait a little bit longer and the EFI Live Autocal will be out. Then you can get a Blackbear tune and have all the niceties of a handheld, plus some! Best of all worlds.

Tunes and data logs can be e-mailed and tunes stored in the Autocal and/or your PC.

Call or E-mail Justin or Jenna for more info.

It's basically what Jeff said, it's like a HP Tuners logging device that can flash custom tunes Emailed from your tuner, looks pretty cool! Good stuff Jeff I've never heard of it before.

Welcome back

Thanks Sam...its good to be back.

I think I am going to get a mail order from Jesse and wait for the charger to go in and get HP tuners than...or just set up a time for a custom dyno tune at than time.

Everyone seems to be happy with their mail order, the only thing is that I want almost all the TM removed and I know he wont do that for me....so I can do that once the trans is built and the charger goes in.

As long as he removes the abuse mode...I'll be happy with a essentially free tune...it will be after about 5-6 tanks of fuel anyway.

Between a roots S/C and a tail pipe turbo setup....kinda between both at the moment...Have a year...or a little more to think about it.

That is a nice kit, But I want to keep the turbo outside the engine bay, mostly to keep the heat out, but also to keep it lookin stockish under there.

STS is cool! Have you seen the new TVS super chargers? Magnacharger sells them, supposed to be hella more efficient than the radix's. The TVS 1900 alone is comparable to the old MP122's.

The administrator on Performancetrucks.net has a NNBS 2500 HD with a TVS 1900 and it's running 13.00's @ 103 mph on 7 PSI...otherwise stock truck with EFI Live tuning. The TVS 1900 is the replacement for the MP112 so to say...but it's mildly comparable to a MP122. I really wasn't too impressed by the radix MP112's but these TVS blowers seem to be making pretty nice numbers.

I will have to look into those further.

S/Cer's just sound so cool, but the pssstttt of a BOV aint bad either...I will make a decision when its time...Like I said, I have a little over a year yet...

Wife's gone back to college so cash flow is a little tight here...LOL

Understandable. Here is a vid of an Eaton TVS 1900 on a 408 silverado 4x4 reg cab step side bed

At the time it was a one-off kit custom fabricated setup, but now Magnacharger offers the entire kit.

At the same time I've seen STS extended cab cam only 6.0l trucks run low 11's with lots of methanol. Either way it's all cool :smash:

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
