Just Finished Hid Install 2007 Silverado Gmt 900

Thanks for all the help everyone. All of your answers made for a smooth install. Took me an hour and half to remove everything and mount the ballasts and put everything back together. A guy on gmfullsize has written a step by step removal instruction for the silverado headlights with pictures! The pics dont do them justice and like everyone elses, my camera shows way more flare from the headlights than is seen in reality. Still need to lower them a little to help out other drivers. :smash: Let me know what you guys think! Another good call by Daddy!

Scroll down half way to see the pics on this link below...

Looks good Chad. Did you turn the headlights down at all after the install to point the HIDs away from other people's mirrors? That's been the biggest thing holding me back from doing that on mine. I don't want to piss off the other drivers too much.

And Daddy, I love the new sig.

No i havent turned them down. My truck still sits factory height. After driving around last night i feel since i dont have a level kit i think they are fine. Plus they hit the same marks on the wall as my factory lights had.

Has anybody installed a relay harness with their HIDs??? I am worried about my factory wiring down the road burning up. Let me know your thoughts!

Those silver faced gauges look slick, any chance you could post some high res images than what is on car domain?

A true HID system will actually pull less amperage than the stock halogen bulbs.

However, some of the blue-colored halogen HID knockoff bulbs (without a ballast) can melt wiring and bulb sockets if they are higher wattage than stock.

You could always put the lights on a relay, but it's probably unnecessary unless you are running higher wattage halogen bulbs. Real HIDs should be no problem on the stock wiring.
