How Hard Is It To Add Keyless Entry To A Truck With Power Door Locks

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2006 SILVERADO 4X4 EXTENDED CAB. IT HAS FACTORY POWER DOOR LOCKS BUT NO KEYLESS ENTRY. HOW MUCH TROUBLE IS IT TO SWITCH IT OVER TO KEYLESS?? DO THEY MAKE AN OEM CONVERSION OR DO I HAVE TO GO AFTERMARKET? IF ITS AFTERMARKET CAN YOU GIVE ME INFO ON COMPANIES THAT MAKE THE CONVERSIONS?

THANKS

No seriously, it should be easy to take care of by going aftermarket. Viper is the one that comes to mind when dealing with aftermarket alarms. Viper is made by a parent company which makes other brands of alarms as well.

TURN OFF THE DAMN CAPLOCKS!

In answer to your question, I ended up going with a Viper system on mine and it works like a champ. I tried the OEM route and ran into brick wall after brick wall. Nobody could make it work. 45 minutes at my installer buddy's shop and the Viper was working perfectly. I should have done that first and forgotten about it.

Good luck and welcome to the ZOO. :pimp:
