I just updated to the newest navigation dvd on my 08 Denali. P/N 25974486 version 4.0 It allows you to browse xm categories while driving. On the previous discs, I had to use my Lockpik to override the fact that you were only allowed to do some things while standing still. There is a setup option where you can turn it off or on. I haven't tried entering an address but I have my fingers crossed. When I first inserted the new disk it shows an "Updating System" screen for a few minutes. It also changed the font of the clock to make it easier to see. At least they were listening to the complaints :pimp:

Guess this really belongs in electronics. Mods feel free to move

That's great to hear. No only if my new disc was not on back-order :puke:

Let us know about the addresses and also check the video while driving (highly doubt it though)

Haha, same here. I ordered mine a few weeks ago. I'm hoping to get it before 2009.

check to make sure you have the 2009 DVD.

2009 NA CH/GMC900/SRX/DTS North America

The disc is currently back ordered

P/N 25974486 $199.00

2008 1/2 NA CH/GMC900/SRX/DTS North America

P/N 25912408 $199.00

2008 HAWAII CH/GMC900/SRX/DTS North America

The disc is currently back ordered

P/N 25850928

I current have the 2008 dvd(released Fall 2007) and waiting for the 2009 dvd(released Fall 2008) to arrive any day now.

with the 2008 disc I can:

enter addresses, scroll through XM, mp3, POI's, etc, etc... up until I go over about 10mph. Then the screen dims and I can only select previous addresses or stations currently on the screen. Movies: As soon as I take it out of "park" the warning screen pops up and does not show the movie. There's no option to turn on/off restrictions.

there is a thread on the Tahoe forum about the new 2009 Nav DVD.

If the 2009 dvds now only restricts "DVD in Motion" on the front screen, will the Lockpicks come down in price?

That's a nice thought. One would think that it will certainly hurt their business, though. I haven't heard anything about it, but I would be thrilled if the 2009 Nav disc got rid of that 26 (I think that's what it is) category limit for when I sync my ipod.

It took 2 mos to get the nav disc updates for both of our vehicles. I noticed the clock font as well as not having to answer the "lawyer" screen every time you access the nav system. Have to try the input screens tomorrow to check it out.

Negative on entering an address while moving. It appears the only changes besides mapping are clock font, "OK" nag screen, and XM radio category selection while moving, and CD/mp3 scrolling while moving.

I got mine off ebay for under $100 and it shipped immediately.

One thing pisses me off. We had a freeway extension done a couple 2-3 years ago and I have updated the dvd twice and they STILL don't know it exists. That's pretty lame IMO.

Does it scroll XM/Sirius info yet?

Yes. Although I was getting the new lineup on my 08 disc.

cool. and that pretty cheap for a disc. I was thinking about selling my 07 & 08 discs.

and 2-3yrs is a long time for an updated not to be added, especially when its a hwy. I think I saw a feedback section in the Nav disc site.

I got my new 09 disc the other day. I have not tried none of the new features yet.

I did loose all the address I had entered in my address book when I installed the new disc.

Even though the website says back-ordered, I ordered on Wednesday and it shipped on Friday.

can you check to see if the DVD(movie) in motion still works with the new 2009 NAV Disc(software upgrage) and your Lockpick. Some one posted that it now blocks the Lockpick device.

Finally received mine (same part number), but I can't use the page up/down in XM stations/categories while moving. Are you sure can do this while moving?

Definitely lets me scan anything music related while moving.

Did it do the update thing when you first put it in?
