No Drain For Radiator? 05 Sierra

Ok, guys, I joined just to ask this question and learn more about my truck.

2005 GMC Sierra with the 4.8L v-8.

It ran low on coolant while out on the road and I only had water to add...(about 5 quarts) so this has diluted my DexCool below recommended levels. I want to drain and flush the system and replace with coolant with a new solution. The problem I have is that there is no draincock on the radiator. I have looked on both tanks (plastic ones of course) and have found the hole where the drain should be, but it was never drilled and tapped for a valve.... So what the heck do I do here? Is this something that GM should fix or is it normal for these newer trucks to come this way? Or, is there another, better way to drain the radiator?

With winter weather coming on soon, I really to get this fixed. Thanks! Joe

You can always pull the bottom radiator hose at the connection to the radiator. :hitit:

Many new vehicles don't come with a petcock on the radiator. Just pull the lower hose off.

Thanks, do you know where I find the block drain plugs?
