Clunking Noise, Not Slip Yoke

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 99 gmc sierra with new rear ujoints (4months old) and I just lubed the slip yoke. My problem is that the rear end is clunking loudly whenever you let off the gas, the clunk changes with you speed and goes away when you press on the accelerator. Anyone have this problem know what it may be? All help is appreciated thanks!

Are the studs still ok? Had that happen on a Western Star and the studs were half worn through.

Studs appear ok, it is dark and cold so they didn't get a really good inspection. Tomorrow I will take the tire off and look closer for any damage. I am going to call the dealership and let them know, maybe they had a new guy or something rotate my tires, I don't want him fired but whoever did it needs to learn to pay attention!
