I know there is a TON of info on this site in regards to this topic, but I just haven't had the time to spend on countless threads and filter through them all to find info on just these two systems. I don't want anything loud, but I wanna hear it when I step on the gas. I want an exhaust to make my truck sound & perfom a little better and these are the two I have narrowed it down to. The Corsa Touring is significantly more expensive and I am having a hard time justifying the extra cost over the Magnaflow. All thoughts and opinions are welcome and appreciated.

I am going with a Corsa touring when they are available for the 09's. With Corsa you don't have to worry that you may get drone from the Magnaflow. Also with the Magnaflow what one are you going to choose for sound?

I have had Gibson, GM Performance exhaust and Corsa touring. In my opinion none compare with the Corsa touring. Quiet @ cruising. no drone, and loud enough when getting it on. And if you tow you will appreciate the touring when under a load going up a long hill. Any way your wife will. None of the others use sound reflective cancelation like the Corsa, thats what gets rid of the drone.

Just my opinion,

Between the Corsa and the Magnaflow i would go magna, BUT i have a 40 series flowmaster dumped behind the cab and you cant even tell its running, and when you stomp it and it goes full bore; it just screams!. no loud redneck popping or clug clug clug sound.

I got the magnaflow dual exhaust and its damn good. I barely have drone and its super quiet when cruising.

Just how much is the price differential between the two?

Magnaflow.

for the price of a Corsa, you can get:

1) a magnaflow exhaust (just buy the muffler and have a shop build your pipes)

2) cold air intake (most like AEM or anything with a dry filter)

3) custom tune (blackbear performance)

you'll be way farther ahead in power as compared to just a Corsa exhaust for roughly the same price.

I can't give you a meaningful comparison because I haven't owned both. I did, however, narrow my decision down to the same two systems. The sound of the two is pretty similar (Magnaflow vs. Performance Corsa), the performance improvement (or lack thereof) is similar, and both are well-constructed stainless. Price made the decision for me, and I'm very happy with the Magnaflow. Here's a complete write-up I did on my web site:

Jack, I always enjoy reading your reviews! I plan to install the same system next summer and your tips will be very useful.

This is a fantastic write-up/review...since I have already decided to go with the Magnaflow on my truck, your instructions/tips will be very helpful!

Thanx. I like to do reviews of the mods I make so that other owners won't have to make the same mistakes I did

pardon my ignorance, but what is drone?

They're just talking about the resonance some systems have inside the cab. It gets annoying after the "new" wears off.

I had the Magnaflow catback on my Tahoe and loved it. After adding a few of the mods, it got a little too loud and the drone was very apparent. Knowing that more engine modifications were in the queue, I opted for a Corsa Touring and couldn't be happier. No drone, nice throaty growl with throttle. If you are looking for a louder exhaust without drone, I would go for the Corsa Sport.

I can get you a pretty good deal on a Corsa or Magnaflow system, however our stocks are dwindling.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
