Prices?

If you want it, can afford to get it, and you're ok with the deals they're running now... go for it. No matter when you buy, there will always be a better deal on what you got, somewhere down the line.. Closer to the end of the year might bring some better deals, for "year end clearance." But, I'm not sure how much better. :D

Post pics when you get it! :sigh:

A co-worker just went throught the same issues....while looking at various dealers, he found a dmax 2500 exactly the way he wanted it....but it was a 2008 instead of a 2009....

He thought about it for a few days and the dealer eventually called him with a super offer that he snatched up....that offer was not available on the 2009s.....I dunno

In the Portland, Oregon area 2008 Chev 2500HD leftovers are going for factory rebate of $10k, Dealer discount of $7k for a total of $17k off of the MSRP. My friend who bought a 2008 Chev 2500HD two months ago only got $12k off the MSRP. I understand one cannot wait forever. The 2009 models will also have to be discounted. They have no choice. Do not get buck fever like my friend did!!!

The day after Thanksgiving I bought a 2008 GMC 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab SLT short bed diesel for $37,000 plus tax/title/license. Sticker on the the truck was $50,650 but it also had an aftermarket spray in bedliner and some sort of security system so total sticker price was around $51,200.

The deals are little better right now. Here's a LINK to truck similar to mine located in North Carolina. MSRP is $51,760 and the sale price is listed at $37,181 - that's $14,579 off MSRP.

Last week I just bought a fully loaded LTZ - MSRP was $54k (sunroof, power rear window, dvd nav, rear headrest dvd's - loaded) and I got it out the door for $39k. The 08's are harder to come by though - dealer had to DX mine in from Richmond and I'm up north of Baltimore.

I don't think the prices are going to get much better than they are now. The big discounts and rebates were designed to reduce inventory in the pipeline, and at the same time the build schedules have been reduced tremendously, so inventory of unsold vehicles has pretty much been chewed down to size. I think we'll start to see prices working their way back up to "normal" after the new year.

Yep, it's about time you get a new one, right? You can just sell that old one to me....
