Large Draw On Radio&tbc Circut(70ma)

I could look into the battery run down software upgrade as mine has never worked from day one as far as I can tell. Quite a few years ago I had the same problem with the battery dying under warranty and they traced it back to the BCM and replaced it. That was good for a couple years now this again. But that only solves the problem with not being stranded any more but I still have that draw.

I'm not any help, but I'm having similar issues with my truck. My battery seemed "weak" for months and finally wouldn't start one morning. So I replaced the battery, and all was good for a week. Then I'd shut the truck off, and I lost all power. I could go "wiggle" the positive cable on the battery, and she'd fire right up.

Over the weekend, had the truck in an actual shop, and kinda cleaned up the battery cable; it had a little corrosion on it. Didn't really help. The multimeter showed my battery a little low, so we'd charge it up, and it'd work fine. We were thinking the battery was just low, due to the bad connection on the positive wire.

I'm gonna take it to the dealer today or tomorrow. I don't think that TSB is my problem, because when I had my BlackBear tune in November, I would think Justin would have used the latest version. My truck is a 2007 GMT900, so maybe our problems aren't the same?

I'll update if I find anything, but I'm not real optimistic.

Yeah i've checked my cables and they're both in great shape. I definately do have a draw as I check it for a draw from time to time and its still pullin 70ma. I was cheching fueses and functions and what i seen is that when I pull the radio fuse(in my owners manual it controls the audio system, instrument cluster, climats control system), the voltage drops and don't come back up but it does when I open the door (70ma voltage) While theres voltage draw present, I pull the TBC fuse(in my owners manual it controls the BCM, remote keyless entry, headlamps) the voltage goes away but comes back when I put the fuse back. What 2 possible items that are linked by the radio and the BCM? I know that when I open the door the security light is flashing in the guage cluster, I checked the guage cluster a while ago by disconnecting it and verified the voltage drop but one day the truck was dead with it disconnected.

I did the 175A Mega fuse check last night. Didn't see any issues there. I haven't really had more than 1 or 2 issues since we cleaned the terminals up. I still may take it to the dealer today, although I imagine they won't find a thing, unless it happens to have a problem right then and there.

My multimeter is no good anymore, otherwise I'd try what you're talking. Some fool left it on the ohm-meter overnight. Good excuse to buy a new one, I guess.

Hi I haven't had any luck on another forum and came across yours via a search, hopefully y'all can help out heres the link of the conversation(mostly me). http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=427628

When this aftermarket radio was installed who did it and did they keep the factory radio installed some where in the truck so all the other modules can talk to it if not the modules will stay up lookin to commucate with the factory radio causing a draw!

Say what???? I did the install myself with connectors to connect into the factory wiring harness. No I have the stocker sittin on the shelf collectin dust. Is there any way to bypass this? I will connect the stocker back and check to see if its drawin still.

I called a buddy at the local stereo install shop to ask about a bypass module or something for the stereo. He said that the cars were that way but they didn't do that to the trucks untill 04 or somethin like that. He also said that 70ma wasn't that bad, his vehicle has 140ma at any given time. He also said that with the meter that I have to leave it hooked up for a min or so and that'll give the proper voltage. I assumed that you hook it and what you see after a few seconds when it settles down, is what you got. I mean it would take forever to wait and do that for every fuse. Any way I did it like he said and after about 20 secs, the voltage dropped down to 10ma. That doesn't make sence when it shows 70ma and right away I pull either of teh 2 fuses that show a draw, the voltage goes down to 4ma.
