Wipers Freezing Up

I have a 2008 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax. I live in Maine and we are having our first Blizzard of the new winter. I have been out plowing snow all day and unfortunately have spent more time trying to get the windshield wipers unfrozen. I have the defroster on high, max temperature, but the wipers just keep freezing up and become inoperable.

 

Althought the air is really hot, it appears to me the defroster does not even blow air anywhere close to the resting position of the wipers. The upper windshield stays fine, but the wipers do not.

 

Looking for winter blades at first light, but not sure that will cure the problem.

 

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the winter blades they do help alot when plowing snow.They keep the wiper from freezing up.been using them on my 04 2500 hd for plowing since new.
