Nitto Terra Grappler At

Looking into a second set of rims for the winter months. These are pretty cheap and tires.com is offering free shipping. How are they in the snow?

They're not bad. Not the best. But not bad. They really shine in the sand...Everywhere else they're just good tires. Not the best...But good.

I have them, they are OK. I am going back to BFG AT T/A KOs next time though.

How does the road noise and ride compare between the Nitto TG and BFG AT? I'm on the fence trying to decide between the two.

I don't think there is any discernable difference. Neither one is loud enough to bother me.

Good to know. Thanks!

I have a set of terra grapplers and I do not notice any road noise. I like them; only had them a couple thousand miles so far though.

I initially planned on getting BFG AT when I buy some wheels this summer but I really like the way the Terra Grapplers look so I'm torn between the two. My gut says the TG will look better with the style of wheel that I plan on buying. BUT I've always had good luck with BFG AT so trying to decide if I should stick with what I know or try something new.

i have a set of the terra grapplers and i do say that they are great in the mud i've thrown at them, there awesome in the rain... never slip unless im tryin to get it squirley, and as far as in the snow i feel that they perform superior to my old tires ( yokohama geolander at+2's) i've go about 6k miles on them and theres no sign of wear, there is little to no road noise depending on how they are aired up... but i've never heard anything loud from them in my opinoin. i bounced around in the backwoods to put them to a test in the wet mud and everything i threw at it they overcame... i rubbed them once on a curb parkin at the firehouse but it left no mark so all in all i say either go with the nitto's or the bfg's and you'll be plesently happy...

heres a few pics on a stock rim. i know you got a gmc but it'll just give you a taste of what they look like on an everyday rim.

they also handle a load great, i've packed my truck with camping stuff and hitched up the boat and they handle great, mine are load e's so they take weight like its nothing and the ride is still phenominal...

I have 'em on my summer wheels and they are great. They do good in mud and rain like stated but I can't help you with how they are in the snow since I don't run that set-up in the winter.

I have the Firestone AT's. Good all around tire, and you can't beat the price. They look good and aren't too heavy. I can't speak for the Nitto's but I know the BFG's weight a lot compared to the Firestones. You might see the MPG to go down quite a bit if you go with BFG's. Although it got bad mileage anyway, I know my brother's ZR2 Blazer was brutal on gas when running his BFG's. He was going to put on the Firestones, but decided to sell it before he did.
