Orders To Kill Warranty

I was given this by a friend who went to the dealer to ask if he bought a programmer to put bigger

tires on that bulletins 08-06-04-033- Gas

08-06-04-006B - Diesel

were telling them to block all warranty claims on the vehicle if aftermarket calibration was detected.

However they told him they could program the tires in if they were in the GM Size range for his vehicle is that right also?

I am not MS3DALE,but what dealers say and what they can legally do is two different things. Read magnuson/moss act

Right. If he gets a programmer and dealership knows it, his powertrain warranty would be gone. But, lets say he is still in the 3yr/36k range, and his motor on the power windows dies, they still have to warranty that.

Look down at the " Truck Issues — Fix It Right the First Time" and you will see it.

And really if all you did was reprogram for larger tires, and no power train parameters were modified, they would have a hard time backing up the no warranty thing anyway. In the magnuson?Moss act the burden of proof is on the dealer to PROVE what you did caused a failure

though I wonder if that is really the case because I had warranty work done and I know for a fact that the dealership plugged into the computer. I know they could probably see the blackbear tune that I got on the truck back in december. They have yet to void my warranty ....we shall see though

GM may have a tougher time detecting a change on the GMT800. Its the 900s that they made changes to detect this. I could be wrong. My 2005 is out of warranty anyway, but I did have it at the dealers a couple of times while in warranty with a tune, and nothing was said
