So where does everyone keep their online photos?

Free or pay sites?

You just talking about for forum hosting?

Photobucket is by far the easiest of all that I've seen (and it's free)...But if you're wanting to host large images, or use a site for a sort of online photo portfolio backup, you're probably going to have to shell out a buck or two.

Flickr is a good one, as is Google.

I use a paid Photobucket account for forum and website storage stuff. It's about 40 bucks a year and has no ads or banners... just no nonsense storage. You can keep much larger files there than the free version offers, but the free version is probably plenty for most casual users.

I believe Flickr maintains a better image than photobucket.

I haven't gone and compared quality. The only stuff I keep on Photobucket is stuff I post on forums and websites... Quality of image is normally not a big deal there. A Jpeg is a jpeg. There should not be a difference in quality unless the site is using different software to compress them maybe? I don't know for sure about that.

On another note, If someone is archiving photos, I'd recommend a back up drive kept in another location, not a web service.

Mainly looking for something to link to.

Then yeah. Photobucket.

Once you get the pic uploaded, all you have to do is click on the url of your choosing below the pic, and it'll automagically put the proper info on your clipboard...ANd you can then just paste it into your post here and VOILA! PIC IN POST!

A couple of years ago I had a site I was using (cant remember the url). They either went belly up or started charging. I had linked a bunch of stuff to it, and forgot where the originals are in my server.
