Confused: On a 1997 K1500 with a vortec 350 engine, All information I have read and found says that I should be able to lift the upper intake free of the fuel meter body fairly easily, but the fuel meter body is not letting go. can any one out there help.

Welcome aboard

May I ask why you are taking the upper manifold off. It is not nececary if you are replacing the lower intake gasket's. The two can be removed as one unit.

After looking in the empty throtle body port and seeing the mess inside I decided it needs to be cleaned.

(I may also have OCD when it comes to my engines) this is my first Vortec.

After pushing pulling and prying, it finaly broke loose and did come off.

The upper intake is held on by a large rubber o ring around the fuel meter which makes for a tight fit.
