'08 Silverado W/4.8 V8

Where is the engine oil drain plug on the 4.8 V8? Is it the plug on the passenger's side of the aluminum casting (oil sump?) that points sideways?

 

I've had a Dodge Ram for the past 10 years and the underside of my new Chevy looks way different.

It's right where you described. Just be ready when you take it out, the oil shoots pretty far!!

Just loosen everything with a hex-head until you get oil. Just kidding. Yes, it's the one that points sideways. But like 68haywagon says, have the oil pan handy.

I like to pop a hole in the filter with a center punch as that can be sloppy too!
