Dash Gauge Cluster Lights

I just had a light burn out between 70 mph and 120mph, and this isint good because i need to see over there. how do i change out the lights in the gauge cluster? is it bulbs to swap out or is soldering involved? how do i do this?

Havent done it on my newer truck, but on my old 93 they were bulbs that twisted out. You pretty much have to take apart most of the dash I think to get the cluster out, and then the bulbs are in little holders that twist and click into place from behind. I believe on later models the bulbs slid into the sockets that clicked in, and the bulbs are ones that you could pick up at any automotive store. For my old truck the bulb wires were soldered into the socket, and GM wanted $15 for a new socket + bulb assembly. Either way you wouldn't have to do any soldering, you'd either be paying $15 for the assembly, or $0.50 for a bulb!

To replace a bulb in your truck you need to remove the instrument cluster, disassemble it, and then unsolder the burned out bulb.. Should be pretty simple if you can de solder and solder.
