Im Torn Cms Toolbox Or Low Profile Aftermarket Box

What do you guys think?

I cant decide between the UWS black low profile box or the GMC CMS sliding tool box

Here is my delima, I am pretty sure I want a black diamond plated box that is level with the bed rails.

GMC doesnt offer their sliding box in black and im worried if I get it powder coated its going to look bad or chip easy.

On the other hand the UWS comes in black and is about 200 bucks cheaper but its not flat with the rails and I would have to take out my CMS.

I can't decide! :D

Are you sure you'll have to take the CMS out? I've got a delta pro and it just fits over the top of the CMS. The only CMS rail I had to take out was the front one so the toolbox could go flush with the front of the bed. But I've still got the side rails in. I know it's not a low profile, but I really like it.

You might be right, I wasnt positive I would have to take it out but I just figured. I will have to check the Delta, thanks

To me, the biggest question would be, will you need to remove or move the toolbox, and how much is that worth to you?

Sliding toolbox FTW!

It certainly depends on how you use the truck, but the sliding box is really versatile. Sorry, but unless its a work truck a toolbox on the rails (even a low profile) takes away from the look of the truck.

Plus, if you use the box a lot you can slide it to the back of the bed to get in and out of it. If you have something you don't want sliding around you can slide the box forward, put it between the bed and the box and push the box up against it.

Why would you having the box powder coated scratch any easier than a black painted/powder coated box you buy. If they prep it correctly it shouldn't.

Why are you agreeing with him? He said trucks w/ toolboxes that sit on the rail make the truck look like shit. You clearly have a toolbox on your truck in your sig. :dunno:

Not sure about what he thinks about toolboxes. I'm confused there too. BUT I didn't say they look like shit either. I personally do not like the look of them, because for me they interupt the lines of the truck. Just doesn't work for me. Makes it look more like a work truck, just depends on what he is going for. Different styles. :sigh:
