New 305/65/17's Make Horrible Vibrations When Braking

I just changed from baja claws to some new 305/65/17 Mickey Thompson ATZ. Had them installed on rim and balanced at a small shop. On the way home, the truck vibrated bad under braking.

I noticed when I got home that left sides had 4-5oz of weight and the rights had 1.5-2oz of weight.

So I swapped the LR for the RF tire, and it lessened, but still was present.

Had them re-balanced today at a different shop and they ride fine going down the road.

but when braking they vibrate from 45mph down to 15mph, basically the same.

They said it was probably in the brakes, but the brakes were fine with stock tires on, on the ride to the shop.

So wheres my problem? Did the first shop over tighten the lugs and wrap my roters? Or are the tires out of round?

I am going out to re-install my stockers and go for a ride now. Be back to update shortly

When they installed the aftermarket wheels, did they remove those 2 small retainer clips off of each rear hub?

Good thought, but I think he just had the new tires mounted on the wheels he already had, so the clips should already be gone. I would think its a tire. If 2 seperate places balanced them and they still vibrate, something else is wrong. Where did you buy them from?

Oh, I didn't know that. Since it only does it when braking, I would guess its warped rotors then....

No he has the stock set of rims and tires and the aftermarket rims and the tires he is talking about. So you have to remove the retainer clips off of the wheel studs off the rear.

F**K ME, rear clips. Its weird though, I had these wheels on before with the baja claws. I hadn't removed the clips and they were fine when on the brakes.

With the new wheels, thats when the problem started, so I assumed it was related to the new tires somehow.

(the shop told me on my way out after I made them re-balance the tires the 2nd time today about the clips)

But went out and removed those clips as soon as I posted . and that worked

thanks
