Ride Is Really Rough With 33's What Can I Do?

I just put some 33x12.50's on my 96' z71 now i knew that it was going to ride pretty rough when the guy cranked my torsion bars but damn i didnt know it was going to be horrible. I wanted to know if i bought some torsion keys and shocks if they would help the ride out? Or if anyone else has any suggestions to make the ride better i would really appreciate it. Thanks

Torsion keys will not help. New shocks, might, but it depends on how old your current ones are. How high did he crank the torsion bars? If you could get pictures of your CV angles, that would be great.

 

The first thing I would look at though, is definitely tire pressure. What pressure are you running?

Im running 35 psi in all the tires so it isnt that high the CV's arnt that bad but i can get a picture tom. I know the rancho shocks look pretty good but i dont want to spend $160 when i can be sure its something else you know.

I didnt crank the torsion bars myself so i really dont know how much they cranked them but i would say almost 2 inches not quite 2 though probably 1 1/2"

You might be topping out either the shocks or the suspension stops. That would give a really rough ride.

Sounds like what happened to me when I first got my 2005. My solution was to bite the bullet and I bought the 5-6" superlift FIT kit and set it at 5"

 

Jack up the front of your truck from the crossmember and see if the upper control arm hits the metal droop stops. If they hit the stops, new shocks will not soften the ride any and your only solution is to de-crank some.

 

If they don't hit the stops, new shocks will help some but don't expect it to ride like stock
