Well....Who's everyone pulling for this year for the championship?

As much as I'd love to see Dale Jr. pull it off,I just don't think he has it in him (Not until he dumps Tony Eury Jr. as his crew-chief )

I think Jimmie could pull off a 4th one....But Both Edward's and Biffle will be right on his back gunning for it also!!

I've been reading that sponsorship is so low this year that many races won't even have a full field. Economic woes are taking their toll om motorsports of all kinds. Might be an interesting season for all of them.

I'm not a huge NASCAR fan but I do tend to keep up with the standings. It sort of isn't the same since it's all about big multi car teams now... at least not for me. I miss the crazy characters like Earnhardt.

Yeah,There might not be full fields at all races for sure.

I totally agree,It ain't same as it was 10-15 years ago. In some ways thats good though,as far as the safety aspect goes.

I'd still like to see the 'ol Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe's,Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2's,Buick Regal's,Ford Thunderbird's,etc. back on the track though!

And I absolutely miss "THE MAN"!

Not a huge Nascar fan, but I always pull for Carl Edwards ever since I read an article on him in a mountain biking magazine (he rides a Santa Cruz Blur, or did 2 years ago, in case anyone's interested ).

I agree with Rich... I think Dale Jr needs to get rid of Tony Eury Jr. I know Junior had a bad season with Michael Waltrip's old crew chief, that year they decided to flip everything around. So, he probably thinks he "needs" Tony Jr by his side to do well. But, I really think Tony Jr cost him some races this last year... or at the very least, Tony Jr cost him some spots on the field. Stupid decisions. Indecisions. I think Tony Jr needs to go.

I'd like to see Tony Stewart do well. But, I just don't see that happening, with him being an owner/driver. Maybe in a year or two...

Not much would tickle me more than to not see any backflips this year!

Jim, I've heard similar things about shortened fields. But, I've also heard that there may be some tracks where 50 or more teams/cars may show up. Apparently, with so many teams laying off people and going under, the bad economy has allowed a bunch of new people to form teams and make a run at it. I doubt they'll be very competitive with the guys from Hendrick, Rousch, etc., though..

Yep,This is happening already,Look at the number of teams who's trying out for the Daytona 500,I think they said something like 54 cars!

Yep,I think the same thing....He thinks he "needs" Tony Jr.,He needs pops (Tony Sr.) back up on top of the war wagon!

All of the HUGE MONEY events will fill up. There are guys that make a very good living just qualifying, running a few laps, and parking. You can pocket hundreds of thousands of dollars if you play it right. There was a good article on that subject in AutoWeek.

Smaller tracks will be where the starting fields shrink... if they do.

That has been a BIG discussion on XM NASCAR radio lately,These "start & park" guys who do just that....Start the race,run a few laps,then drop out.

I’m excited for it all to start. I never really watched any NASCAR until I started dating my wife a few years ago, she’s a huge fan. I’ve always been into anything with a motor, but NASCAR was stupid I thought. Dale should have a good shot this year, but I think Tony will be the surprise. He’s working with Hendricks equipment, but the only problem he’s going to have is all new crew and learning them. Whatever happens, just keep bush and shrub out of the top 12.
