Idle Speed Control

how do i tell if idle speed control is bad? would this make it idle fine and run fine down road but bog down when coming to stop and in parking lots? Thank you cody

You didn't give much info like year make model but you can check the Idle Air Control IAC valve. It is mounted on the throttle body with a wiring harness connected to it. If you have more than 30K miles, you should pull the throttle body and completely clean it. My 01 Tahoe idled really bad after 50K and the TB was FILTHY and cleaning it made it idle nice and smooth. Use TB safe cleaner.

i already cleaned the throttle body really good with seafoam it a 95 chevy 350 k1500 4x4 its got 200,000 miles on it. I took off the idle control yesterday and it was little bit dirty loooked like the original sensor the end that plugged in to the sensor was broke. Should i buy a new plug and just buy a new sensor?
