Nbs Headlight Bulb Change

Recommended Posts

I have a low beam bulb burn out driver side. Has anyone had to replace the bulb? What's involved in doing this? It appears that the windshield washer tank has to come out to make the change. Thanks for the input.

remove the lamp houseing ie: pull the headlight out then replace the bulb then re-install

Yes, I know, but how much of the truck do you have to remove to get to the houseing.

If you're talking about a late 2007 or up model, (if not lucky you...) If so, than first remove the spare battery base plate I think it like 6 10mm bolts. Then remove the washer tank top bolt (also 10mm) and pull the top of the tank back and stick your arm in to hold the tank back and reach around and up in there and twist the lamp connector up (I THINK) and remove it. It's a pain in the ass to do if your hands or arms are large but it can be done. On the R/H side you need to remove the air box and twist your hand the same way as the other side.

I don't know who designed this light assembly installation, but he should have his ass kicked. What was wrong with the shoot pins like the trucks from a few years ago? Pull the pin, and remove the light assembly. So simple!

Good Luck...I'm still trying to figure out how to remove the assembly? I think there are 4 screws. 2 on top that you can get to, and 1 or 2 that I have no idea how to get to.

Wait until you want to change out the front turn signal lamp....LOL...LOL That was a nightmare, but also can be done. At least they gave us some cut outs to fish the bulb assemble through.

That's retarded, the 800s were easy to change out. Whoever designed this and whoever put the battery in the back corner under that damn brace should be  Atleast they kept the belt tensioners and alternator pretty accessible. The engineers should be forced to perform things that will need to be done to the truck over several years like change lights, alternator, jump start it, jump start another vehicle, change a battery, change plugs, clean throttle body, etc. before the design gets finalized. That probably makes too much sense though.
