The Bull Bar

Recommended Posts

Ok so. Every other truck I see anywhere with a bull bar, the first thing I think is "man, that thing looks out of place". To me, they just look like an 'easy' way to make the truck look different, like they're just slapped on, with no real thought put into it. I really hate that, and I started worrying that my truck is the same way.

It doesn't look out of place to me, but that could also be because I've been looking at it every day for a year and a half.

So my question is, if you had never seen my truck before, would you think the bull bar just looked like it was slapped on there as a cheap way to make the truck "unique", or does it actually work with the truck?

And don't be afraid to say what you think, I'm probably going to take it off anyway once it warms up, I'm just looking for some honest opinions. And there's no "paint it" option, it either stays or goes.

I definitely wouldn't paint it. The chrome matches the tahoe grill, so in that regards it looks good.

As to whether it looks slapped on or not, I'm not sure. I think that your truck is unique enough that it fits with it. If you had a stock truck with a bull bar then it would seem more out of place I think. But with the Line-Xed rockers it looks like your truck look more agressive. I'd say keep it.

To me, there's only one purpose to bullbars on 800s and 900s, and that's a place to put lights (since they have NO structural integrity at all). Given that that's what you're using it for, it looks fine

If you had it with no lights, then I'd have to go with the slapped on for the sake of it. Do you not use your lights?

I think it's part of what makes your truck look unique (and good).

I say keep it. They look good with lights.

It doesn't look out of place to me. It blends in very well with the other chrome on the bumper and grill.

What I would do though would be to paint or powdercoat (or LineX) the lower skid plate looking part black to match the lower part of the bumper.

BTW there Dan. How goes the school this semester?

Edit: I vote keep it!

No I use them, but if I got rid of the bar I'd just hook some OEM fog housings up to the current wiring.

screw that then. Keep it, it looks good.

Dan, I would have to say keep it on there. I think it works with your truck and gives it a little personality. If you take it off, you will blend into the sea of trucks again.

Keep it. But if you do get rid of it then at least get the nfab light bar like I had on my 05.... Your truck will look too plain without anything up there

i would keep it, and add some tubular side step bars to continue the style of the bull bar along the rest of the truck. either way it looks good.. i vote keep it.

I say keep it. I was thinking of putting the same one on my truck but decided against it because I wasn't going to mount any lights on it therefore it would have no purpose. I really like it on your truck esp. with the hellas.
