07 Stlye Radio Work In 03 2500hd Bose?

i have an 03 duramax lt fully loaded with the bose 6 cd changer...just wondering if the newer stock head unit will fit in my truck, din size, since i think i can get the adapters that plug in..and will i also need tohave it programmed by the dealer? Thank you, mostly asking since it doesn't play mp3 cd's, suprisingly.
