What Is This Extra Wire On The 7-way Harness?

I was looking at my 7-wire trailer harness and found an extra wire capped off really nice. This is all stock stuff on an '05 Sierra, w/ tow package. What is this extra light blue wire for?

So if I wanted to get one of those nifty receiver hitch - light up brake lights, I would hook it up to this? Just the one wire?

Yup. Grounds through the receiver to the frame.

Hey thanks for noticing

Not here much unfortunately. Lets see where shall I start, my business that employees 18 people is struggling with the economy, my government is making every wrong decision on almost every issue IMO, my wife shattered her ankle (right) 5 weeks ago today and has 7 pins and a plate, I have had to try and run my struggling business while shuffling my 12 and 13 year old daughters to every god damn thing you can imagine, while I cook and clean............well, I got to calm down

Bottom line, it sucks to be me right now I have NEVER appreciated my wife of 17 years more than in the past 5 weeks.

Good news, she can walk across the room without the boot and I'm hoping she is able to drive herself to work in about a week. Taking the family to Florida last week in March so we can all decompress a little. Hope to be back on the board more in a month or so when my life gets back to normal.

Ouch, sorry to hear about all that...Maybe a little trip to "sunny" Florida will help a little bit, just don't expect to get anywhere fast here. Between construction and congestion all the main highways are pretty busy at peak hours...

If you do drive down, give me a holler if you're gonna be in the Orlando area.
