How Can I Make My 1500 2wd Look Like A 1500hd

I love the stance of the 1500HD and I am trying to figure out how much of a lift or something I would need to make my 2WD crew cab look a little bit more aggressive like that. Any ideas are appreciated.

I didn't know there was a difference. I guess you go go with a leveling kit and larger tires. (Before you ask which tire and lift, please do a search, theres plenty to read).

the 1500hd's also had 8 lug set ups....and the 2" body raise....usally only offered in a crew cab, if i remember correctly. But more/less get things to match the 2500hd trucks and you will have one. Execpt for brakes and chassis.

See they have all 2500 stuff on a 1500 frame. so brakes were better and rear was bigger, and proboley stock with a trailer hitch to promote the "heavy half" ton and towing. I dont belive the dealer i was working at had sold alot i only ever saw 2 or 3.

also on height look at the pics of my blue truck in my signature under leveling kit...i was the same height as a stock 2500hd but less frame showing. i was running 33's so i had to cut the lower front valance.

Others can chime in, but it depends on what exactly you are looking for.

Unlesss mistaken, a 1500HD has 2500 running gear (axles, 8-lug rims, etc)

Sell your 2WD 1500 and buy a 1500HD. That sounds like the best plan to me...

Seriously, it will cost you more to "change" your truck into an HD than it will to sell your 1500 and buy an 1500HD.

This same thing pops up on the Crown Vic boards. People are always asking what it would tale to make their beat up, old, ex-squad car into a Marauder. And the answer is always the same...sell the squad, and just buy a Marauder.

I don't think making his truck a 1500HD was the questions, he wants the look of one.

Make the truck leveled in the front, then add a 2" body lift. After that, add your 33" tires and your good.
