Wheel Bearing Or 4wd?

Ok -- here goes- Driving down the road at about 40 mph and hear clinking noise left front wheel area ? I tried it in 4wd and is even worse! So would it a bearing or somthing with 4wd. 2oo3 gmc yukon xl
