My front wheel bearing on my 95 chevy k1500 pickup is bad but my question is can you replace just the wheel bearing because when i shop on autozone, or advance they only sell the whole assembly which is expensive. please help

Not too sure on the '95, but this should be correct.

There should be no play in the wheel.

to check ball joint, jack the truck up on stands under the frame, let the wheels hang. use a long steel bar under the wheel and lift on the bar. if you feel poping when you lift, its ball joints. With the wheels hanging, unlock the steering, put your hands the 3 and 9 and try to rock the wheel, don't need to turn the steering wheel, also put hands at 12 and 6 and try to rock the wheel. If there is ANY movement that is too much and you have a wheel bearing problem.
