03 Chevy Nav Upgrade

I have maroon 2003 silverado LS ext.cab truck. I want to install a 200 watt system but I want to use the OEM Nav radio of the same year. I saw one on ebay but it mentioned something about the radio only works with a Bose LUX system. I really want to install this radio. Can someone please help with this, i would really appreciate it. thanks

LUX is the Bose amp system Y91 RPO code.

Look in your glovebox for the list of RPO codes to determne if you have the LUX option.

 

Non LUX is w/o the Y91 option.

 

The TNR (touch-screen navigation radio) that works with the standard Bose amp has a part # that ends in 7287

 

The TNR that works with the upgraded Bose amp has a part # that ends in 7531

 

There are several threads on the complete NAV radio install including the installation of the entire LUX amp system etc

 

When you install the TNR, you lose the CD changer, so if you still want a CD changer, you'll have to install an external Escalade/Denali style cd changer that goes in the center console.

 

Then there are the ipod interfaces that allow you to not have to worry about CD's, that's the way to go now a days.
