I may be back. After selling my v max a while ago and now looking again at some trucks a dealer located what I think I want. Let me know what to look out for etc.... I ve been out of chevy trucks a year or so, keep that in mind. OK< 2009 1500 GMC, Crew cab, 5.3 flex, 6 spd, off road,and some other packages I can t recall... Heated mirrors, electronic 4x4 system, some sort of trailer package, privacy glass, 17 in off road white letter tire, fog lights, Leather power seats, pedal adjust and not sure what else. It s either a sle or slt i guess. List was 38,500. Steel grey. Buying it unseen so make sure I didn t overlook anything. I drove a similar truck but not the one located and though it was a comfortable truck. It also felt faster than my 07 v max was off the line. Thanks, hope to be back on here in the near future. BTW I did drive the new ford and the interior was very nice but I ll save that post for another time. I do still have the Malibu and this is Silverado #5.

Sounds nice, I know the 6-speed has a nice low first gear, but I doubt highly it would out run the Vmax 4-speed. The 5.3 is a good motor, combined with the 6-speed, should make it a nice truck. What gears will it have?

it is a GMC . 3.42 rear and locker I hope. My v max would not lite the tires up like this one did.(I know I did have 20s on the v max)..

Stock vs Stock it most certainly will kick the Vmax's ass off the line and most likely up to 60 MPH.

 

Our 4 spd Vmax's are pigs in stock tune form.

first i had a wait4me tune, then a mail tune from Justin(can t remember the name but it s a popular one) then last the efi by a local shop in upstate NY. (they speacialize in trucks and corvettes). I think it ran in the 15 s. I posted it here but cant remember. Was never really happy with the tunes even though they were way better than stock.

I plan on leaving this truck stock except for the dealer will install a soft top and bedliner upon delivery.

I'm gonna have to go drive one of these 6-speeds. I've got diablo, and with the tm/st off, I can light my 20's up pretty dang good. I know what your saying about stock though. My 10 year old on his bmx bike could pull out faster than I could with all the throttle delay stock.

Based on what you've said, I would have a REALLY tough time buying a vehicle sight unseen.. Spending the kind of money we're talking about for a late-model (or new) truck, I'd have to put my butt in the seat, drive it, and look the truck over good.. Just because you drove one "like" it doesn't mean they'd be the same, unfortunately...

 

What's the story on buying it without seeing it??

Because of the cloth seats I don t want, leather on this is not very common. So I drove the cloth truck and the leather is a dealer swap. I couldn t locate a Silverado or GMC without going up to a LTZ to find one with leather in the colors I wanted.

Sh!t that's a lot of money. I also wouldn't buy anything sight unseen like that. Most dealers will get you a vehicle to drive if they really think you will buy it. At least then you would know for sure.

 

Is that price with all the GM incentives as well?

well I m going away for a week and they will have it when I return, I didn t give them a dime but they wanted me to verbally commit because of the swap is 100 miles away. So I told them to e mail me the specs so I have them in hand. I did see the sheet when I was there but didn t take a copy that night. They took about 7K off list and put 2K more on my trade than 5 other dealers I shopped. When it s in I will see it before i do any paperwork. I not as crazy as you guys think!!
