2007 Sierra Slt Power Seats - Driving Me Crazy! Any Ideas?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 Sierra SLT with power seats. A couple of months ago, the driver's side controls stopped working. I took it to the dealer and they repaired the seat. They said there was a TSB out about the power controls.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, the controls on the driver's side seat stopped working again. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer, but the day before the appointment, the seat controls started working. The service manager said they couldn't fix it if it wasn't broken, so I cancelled the appointment.

Then, this past Saturday, the driver's side controls stopped working again. They didn't work Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. I made an appointment with the dealer for Tuesday (today) and on the way to the dealer, the controls started working. The dealer looked over the seat, but said since it's working, they can't fix it. Then, after I got home, the controls stopped working again.

Anyone experience anything similar to this with the NBS power driver's seat? If so, what was the problem and what was the resolution? Your help is appreciated!!

I think mine has been in the shop for this either 4 or 5 times....this problem first started at 6800 miles and has continued on since then until about a month ago....basically there was a short in the backrest harness...they repaired that....then there was a short again...they replaced the backrest harness. That worked well for a while, then it quit working again...so they put in a new seat bottom harness....worked for about a week....then it quit yet again....so it went back in for a new memory module....it worked again....then about 2 weeks later it quit once more. Finally I was pissed enough that I reached under the seat while driving and grabbed the memory module wires to find that they were a little loose....I pulled all of the plugs out, then made sure everything was tight...plugged it back in..and ever since then it has been trouble free....my advice is to check all of your connections!

What I did find helped was sometimes if I could not get the seat to move no matter what, I would unplug it from the floor and wait about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again...seemed to clear up the problem so I could at least get the seat to move!

Also does your truck have the Conveinence Package with the Power Pedals....if so see if your Power Pedals Quit working when your seat does...I guess these are tied in with the Power Pedals and maybe you could have a short there?
