Penske, So far

Looks like Penske may have made the right decision so far.  We'll see at the end, but M. Wallace is looking alot better than Mayfield usually does.  Especially since he had to get in with a provisional, Mayfield would have probably just cried about how the team gave him a poor car and he couldn't qualify.  Mikey just went with what he had and look where he is.

Don't judge too much by one race. Mike and Kenny Wallace have both been unable to keep a Cup ride for an entire season. There is a reason for that.

Actually they both used to have full-time rides, problem was they were second rate teams.  all I know is Mayfield would've been crying about a car blowing up today and Mike had nothing but good things to say.  Maybe if Mike could get on with a decent team, and not be looking over his shoulder the whole time he might suprise a few people.

They both did have full-time rides, but neither was able to complete a season in their respective rides. Yes, they were also "second rate teams". There is a reason for that.

Kenny has been very capable in BGN racing. Mike has had decent success in NCTS. They need to stay there. Neither one of them are NWC material. They are a heck of a lot better that I'll ever be, but they aren't as good as Rusty.

I agree they're not as good as Rusty, but they are better than some others who have fulltime WC rides.  Mike ran a full season in the #90 Heigh-Leigh Meyers (Spelling?) car a few years ago, and Kenny ran the Dirt Devil car around the same time.  I think at least one of them were in a situation like the Morgan McClure team is constantly in.  M-McClure is a srcond rate team that will never be anymore because they never give a driver a chance to gain any chemistry or comfort because they fire drivers every month or so.

Neither of them will be another Rusty, but put in the right situation I think that at least one of them could do alot better than they have in the past in WC and alot better than some others who end up running full-time every year.

I'd like to see Kenny get a good quaility ride/team.  I don't know what it is about him, but I like him a lot and he just seems like a fun guy.  Someone that would be a blast to hang out with.

I'll agree with that.

He is hysterical! Did y'all know that when they were young, Rusty was racing a late model and Kenny would throw

snow-cones at other drivers that he felt were interfering with Rusty?

He had the nick-name "Snowman" in the St. Louis area tracks.

Mayfield may have been sub par, but so was his team. Look how much money he won? (Almost as much as Rusty) The fact is, the Penske Nascar team sucks. Mayfield has won in WC before, 3 times. A lot of drivers with rides have not. Mike's good showing won't last, he won't win in that team, but I wish him the best anyway.
