Track Times? Anyone?

Im sure yall know that I got the cortex 2950. But im still thinking about blackbear in the future. I do like the cortex but yall said that the bb is 100000000 times better than handhelds and if thats so im all for. But off to the thread who all has track times for handhelds superchips, diablo sport, hypertech etc compared to custom tunes. I went down to the track friday and just made 1 run, I did 1 run because I had a pretty good reaction time and I thought I wouldve done really bad on the rest. I did it in 2 wheel drive, on take off it barely spun and when it shifted into 2nd it spun a little again

 

reaction time: .011

60' 2.75: 28mph

330' 7.17: 57mph

1/8 10.60: 73mph

1000' 13.53: 84mph

1/4 16.03: 90mph

I'd take a 16.03 for my truck!

 

Honestly, if you launch in 4hi you will be fine. It might get you well into the 15's.

I thought that it would run a high 16 or a low 17 done alot better than I expected. I wish I launched in 4wd now but oh well i'll take my truck back soon it was fun.

How do you figure? If he barely spun on launch, I doubt 4Hi would help much. You lose alot more power through parasitic drivetrain loss in 4wd.

Nice times! How hard did it spin for those five feet? The first 60ft are the most important to the run and 5 ft can make a big difference.

 

Regardless, those are pretty good numbers for a big 4X4. I would really be interested in seeing what it ran stock and with the programmer.

between all of the differnt tunes i think its safe to say its all about preferance. I have an old post were i went a 14:8 in the 1/4 w/ a hypertech and n2o yes a better tune may have done better but not bad for a $300 handheld now with the Diablo i could of had a custom tune emailed to my computer to better tweake the fuel and spark tables.

i wish i would of ran it in stock but ill probably go back soon and ill run it in stock and on performance. It spun pretty hard it jumped up about 2500 rpm it got a little sideways but i wasnt backing out of the throttle. The 60' time was a little slower than i thought it would be but once it hit second the speedo really started to climb
