What Happened To Wait4me Tunes?

Anyone know if they are still in business? Their website is still running, but I e-mailed them a few times with a question on a 3 year old tune I had from them and have not received any replies? Out of business? Too busy? Or just bad Customer Service??

Your statement seems very accurate. From what I heard, Jesse will get you a tune, but after that you're on your own ... heard his customer service is very poor after-the-sale.

...waiting for Jeff to chime in here

Sorry Kdogg55, in all seriousness I don't think their customer service is all that great. I had a wait4me in my last truck and didn't like the way it was tuned: transmission 'banged' from 2-3. I never tried to have it retuned. Just put the original ecm back in.

Yeah, obviously I am not happy with the tune. I can almost here the snickering when W4M is even mentioned! I actually sent it back once and it basically came back the same way. I then cut my losses and bought a Predator handheld cheap and installed my original PCM to tune it. I just figured that was 2 years ago and maybe I could send it back with hopes something changed and he could re-tune it under the lifetime warranty and see if it is any better. I since sold the predator and even though it was a handheld, it was much better than the W4M tune.

I really do not want to spend the money for another tune or Blackbear would be my choice, but right now I have a money pit of a custom chopper that is getting my few spare $$. That is why I was hoping for the best with what I currently have. Thanks for the replies though. I know for sure I am in the same boat as many from here.

Well... yeah... sure. Nothing new here.

I'd suggest calling him. He's never been big on e-mails unless his wife is checking them for him. I know he's still around though. He's fairly active on the caddy forums.

Well Wayne, since you were so satisfied, I assume you are going to have him tune your new truck? Right?

Official Response:

Well, I'm glad you asked, Jeff. :D Based on my experiences with W4M through various phone calls, e-mails and over a year of driving a vehicle tuned by him, I have no reason to exclude him from being a possible future tuner for my new truck. Despite having less-than-stellar customer service skills, I found him to be a very knowledgeable and skilled tuner. While he has acquired a not-so-great reputation on a few forums, there are others where he is still highly regarded and yes, possibly even loved. His personal issues aside, I found that basically all relevant technical information he provided was eventually backed up and confirmed by other tuners on various forums, including this one. As I suspected it would be.

Unfortunately at this point and time I have no current plans on tuning the truck. So I'm unable to speculate on which tuner I might be considering (or not) if and when I should decide to go through the custom tuning process.

Thank you for your interest and I look forward to many future tuning related discussions in the future. And feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, impressive response sir.

Now, if you can find even ONE disappointed BB customer, whether it's based on tune quality or customer service. Then I will gladly retract my statement regarding Jesse Bubb.

Good luck! :nono:
