When i first joined this site everyone was talking about the revos. Well 27000 miles later have to say they SUCK! at first i was impressed over stock tires, but that quickly changed at about 10000 miles! Im milking them along cause of the original cost, but the noise is killing me! No way will i get another 13000 miles from them. VERY DISSAPOINTED!

I only got 33k out of the ones that were on my truck when I bought it (used, obviously). They were a good tire, until the tread started to get thin. The rubber compound seemed to get much harder as they wore, which destroyed their wet-pavement capabilities. My chiropractor has had a few sets on his F350, and he's noticed the same thing, but consistently gets 50k per set. Who knows. :lol:

 

Oh, and I rotated mine every 5k, but I don't know what the previous owner did.

I got 34k on mine and they are still have at least 1/2 tread.....if not more. I am really happy with them - I think they are the best truck tire I have ever owned.

 

I rotate them ever 7500 miles.

 

But - when my truck needs tires again - I am going with Coopers ATR's - right now the Revo's are over 200 a piece - no way I am spending that.

I was happy with the Revo's with how they performed, but not impressed with how they lasted. The BFG TKO's seemed to last much longer. The Coopers look like a good tire also.

got rid of them as soon as they wore and never looked back. theyre crap.

 

thats what i am running(revo's),so far they are "good" but i will likely switch next time to cooper or TKO's,i like to be impressed?

How many miles do you have on your Revos? Mine have only about 12k on them, but seem to do well. Especially in wet conditions. I do not know about snow.....yours truly tries not to have to drive when the roads are white.

When do they start making "too much" noise? Aren't these tires supposed to have some kind of dual-compound tread...in that as the tread wears you get down to a harder rubber? This is supposed to extend the tread life/mileage? But it seems like they would become more treacherous as they wear.....as if worn tread isn't bad enough.....

And yes, I too would not pay $200 each for these tires. But with as little miles as I put on this truck they will probably outlast me!

You aren't the first to hate the Revos after some miles. It appears that their tread blocks wear in such a way that they get louder and louder as they age. Add to that the natural hardening of the rubber compound and they fast become annoying over time. I was worried that my Pirellis woud do the same bit in about 13000 miles, they are as quiet as they were new. Never had Pirellis on a truck before but I'd buy them again.

I had some BFGoodrich all terains that did the same thing, awesome new then went to crap after a while, on even the smallest grade i'd spin my tires like i was hammering it.

My Revos have 20K miles on them with lots of tread left but are getting noisy even with good rotation. I would say they will last 40K miles without any problems. Maybe even more...

 

I guess the bottom line is that I wish I would have spent the extra few bucks and bought the Michelin LTX/MS that I put on my last truck. The gave great taction and stayed quiet over the life of the tire. I sold that truck to my friend and he ended getting 65K miles on those tires and was so impressed with them that he bought another set.

I thought they were good but after I broke 10k the centers wore in and road noise increased, and they sucked terrible in the snow. Hated them, BFG A/T KO is a MUCH better tire.

i have 15k on mine and they are guessing a little over @1/2 tread left.no noise,hydroplaning and performing well in the snow.In their defense i typically get 25-30k on the last 5 sets of tires on my last truck.this is the first set on this truck and i heat the TKO's will only last the same milage and i have been seeing lots of coopers around?

      The oil filter has NOTHING To do with oil leak. GM sources parts from 1,000's of vendors and as with anything mass produced, flaws are unavoidable.    Putting a larger oil filter will do nothing but satisfy emotions. The OEM filter is designed for the engine and perfectly capable of handling the demands on the engine. Oversize oil filter could result in reduced flow and overall lower oil pressure.

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.

      Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
