Rear Shocks...

I have a 2002 gmc sierra 1500 .I had the front shocks changed for 185.00.I decided to change the rear myself.35.00 an 30 minutes later i was done.I still get small vibration under the drivers seat towards the rear upon hitting bumps. All i did was unscrewed old shocks, put new ones on,releases the "cable" screwed bottom in an was done.No bushings in the box or anything. Was there suppose to be? Is that all you do to change these shocks? pull em out put em in and bolt? No special turning or anything? Maybe i need tires or have bent wheel but ive had front shocks, now rear shocks.Front tie rod ends, front alignment an 2 front tires.Still shaking or vibration when i hit a bump.Is this just gmc trucks with a empty bed? and did i do the rear shocks correctly? Thanks for any advice

Yep, just a bolt at the top and bottom. All bushings should be pre-installed in the shock. Tighten them to specs. What brand of shock did you buy for $17.50 each? I'd think that would be a pretty low quality shock.

it was a monroe shock, salesman gave me 2 prices.monroe an upgraded but told me the monroe for 17.00 was good enough especially not really haulin stuff...BTW i didnt use a torque wrench i just tightened them up.will it effect it or have a problem because of this?

Tightening them by hand is all you need to do. The change in shock probably just made a small vibration that was already there noticeable. Different shock valving can expose little things that you couldn't feel before. Unfortunately inexpensive shocks aren't the best at filtering out this stuff either.

There was already a small vibration upon hitting bumps mainly, thats why i changed the shocks. But vibration is still there so i assuem its either a bad tire or wheel. Cant believe that the old shocks an new shocks is the cause of the vibration no matter how cheap, maybe i am wrong. I mainly needed to know if i put them on right, which i did.an about the torque wrench. but for those of you who have a sierra or pickup isnt it unusual to get a vibration? or will a empty bed cause it? i will get new tires an see what that does i guess
