Toyota to the CTS and then Cup? Toyota has made inquiries about getting into the Craftsman Truck Series in 2003 and is expected to follow Dodge's path to Winston Cup.(Sporting News)(2-19-2002)

That sucks.      Now we'll have to listen to the ricers complaining that they can't keep up.

But I guess it'll be ok as long as Rusty doesn't switch.  I hated that he went to F**d back when he did, but I stuck with him, but if he changes to a ricer then I'll have to give up on him.

That would be horrible.  I am sorry, but NASCAR is an AMERICAN-breed sport and only cars made in the US by good-ole AMERICAN companies should be used.

What's next?! Front Wheel Drive?!

Well, seeing as every Winston Cup car is supposesedly one that is front wheel drive already, I wouldn't use that argument.  Try something else.

I really, really do not want to see a foreign manufacturer come into NASCAR, in any of the series they sanction.  But how exactly can NASCAR tell them no?  The lack of a rear wheel drive car is out, as is having your Cup motors based on a production motor, and you can't say you won't allow a foreign manufacturer because they already do.  The first item went out the door a long time ago, and Daimler (Dodge) blew the last two items away in 2001.

But you can be assured of one thing.  If they get into Nascar, and get some decent teams on their side, they have a good possibility to be the dominant force.  Toyota has dominated damn near every series they have ever competed in.

What the #### does Toyota make that's "Cup Material" anyways?

I say Nascar should make another series for the Imports. The NASCAR Import Grand Nat'l division or something. And show all their races on Pay-per-view. :D

Answer this question first.  What cars do any american manufacturers make that is Cup material?  Only one of the three even has a two door coupe, and it certainly doesn't have a V8 or RWD....

I would love to see a camry or celica in the cup and the tundra in the craftsmen..

I'm a loyal toyota fan,  I have one that dad bought back in 89 and is still running to this date with no motor changs or body changes

Go ahead, call the Taurus and Intepid Cup material, I don't agree there.  The Monte and Grand Prix are as close as an American company can get now, but they are still FWD V-6s.  This whole argument of their cars aren't good enough to fit doesn't hold.  You need to try another angle.  Myself, I would hate to see those Japanese cars running around, but like Kyle has said, is there really any way you can stop them?  Not really.

OK, I'll try this approach.

What's next?! Combine racing?!  :D

There how's that?

We have combine demos, so why not.  But I don't quite see how that has to do with this thread.
