Converting French Option Sheet To English?

I recently purchased an 09 Sierra SLT 4x4 ext cab, unseen and not aware of all the options, it was the last one available so I said I would take it.

I knew it was the SLT with the 20" wheels so I knew it was fairly loaded but the build sheet/window sticker/options list is all in french so I have no way of knowing exactly what came with the truck.

 

Is there anyway of finding out what is written on the window options list in english?

There are a few people here that can run the VIN for you and get the list of all the options on your truck.

Post your vin and ask.....or ask who can and PM your vin to them.

I would take your request to a GM dealer. They can print out the information from your VIN. Go the parts department and ask for a "build sheet" and give them your VIN.

 

As to the original sticker on the window, there is someone or a department at GM which would do this. That is print out window stickers to place on new vehicles. Perhaps GM dealers can do the same thing? So I would first ask at a GM dealer. If they could not do it, perhaps they would know where to get one? Or who to call/which department to call at GM to make such a request. Remind them you want it in English and not French.

 

As to calling GM yourself, calling large corporations can be frustrating as you may need to repeat your request over and over until you get someone who would be knowledgeable about this - which department to transfer you to, etc. But be persistent and eventually you will get the right person.

 

As to posting your VIN on the internet, I don't see this as a problem. Anyone can walk up to any car in a parking lot and copy the VIN by looking through the windshield.

 

Anyway for contacting GM, I would start by searching google.com for GM customer service. I did this and found the following...

I called a GM number the other day, (I got it from On-Star, who wouldn't do it?) The lady started reading off my options that she got from my VIN but wouldn't e-mail me what she was reading from???

I could tell she was getting bored/frustrated reading all the options and I couldn't write fast enough so I told her to stop, she also suggested my dealer or a different one so that is the route I will try when I get time.

Still don't understand whay she couldn't just e-mail me what she was reading, she took my home phone number, address, dealer name, vin etc but still couldn't do it?

Whats a electronic immobilizer?

Centralizer inform captain? I assume that is the DIC?

Retrovir antibloussement self? I typed that in twice and it came out the same both times.

 

When the lady was reading some things off to me, she stated I had a tranny oil cooler but I did not see it when I was translating? Could it be part of a package?
