Those 454ss trucks are Fun, My dad had one, I learned how to drive in that when i was 15, he use to let me take it to high school, It was voted the best car/truck my Senior year, There fun but gas eaters big time 8mpg. My dad let it go for cheap about a year when we moved to Sacramento, ca, It was all stock only 50,000 miles, ran better then my 07, And the can tow 10,000 pounds, what gm did to those truck Is that they took the 1 ton powertrian and put it in a reg. Cab. Good luck But look into 91,92, 93, they have the a 4l80 transmission 4 speed overdrive 1990 has the th400 3 speed. Good luck

Good luck But look into 91,92, 93, they have the a 4l80 transmission 4 speed overdrive 1990 has the th400 3 speed.

 

I agree,Plus the '91-'93 trucks also have 255 hp/405 lb.ft. of tq.,4.10 gears,and the better dash cluster with tachometer.

If you go for a '92-'93 you could also get them in Red or White,along with Black that was the only choice in '90-'91.

I was at a Sunoco picking up a Mt. Dew Game Fuel and a guy was pulling out in a clean 91 454SS he wanted $8,500 for it. It was pretty clean and sounded good with flowmasters on her. No other engine mods. In New Jersey
