Rear View Mirror - Elec Issue

2002 Silverado -

 

I have the rear view mirror that has the temp and compass built in. I noticed today when my windsheld wipers are turned on, the rear view looses power with each "swipe" of the wipers.

 

The temp and compass go haywire and the little green lights on the rear view go off and on again. Something electrical im betting, but have no idea

 

has anyone heard of this? any ideas?

Seems maybe a issue with a ground somewhere? I did unplug and re plug in the connector on the back of my rear view mirror.. didnt help.

 

just dont know if it's the rear view mirror or the windsheld wipers that are the issue....

 

works fine when the wipers are off. I read some post of others saying it has happened to them in the "rain" I'm guessing it was also their wiper that casued it.... not really the rain.
