Need Some Help....

I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500. It has 31,000 miles on it and over the last 1000 I have had nothing but trouble. Of course it all began 1 month after the warrenty expired and so far the dealerships have refused to fix it. It has been in no accidents and has had regular oil changes.

A list of whats wrong:

1)No cruise control

2)No brake lights

3)No A/C (Had it checked there is a leak and the Vent clutch is not cycling)

4)Check engine light has come on and the codes are:

P0449

EVAP (Evaporative Emission System) purge/vent solenoid circuit condition

P0455

This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected.

Now this all has happened within the last 3-4 months and I cant believe its all just coincedence. The only thing I have had done on the vehicle was a remote start installed by Best Buy. (Viper brand) Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I cant afford to fix these problems at the moment but I also need to stop more from happening. Thanks in advance for your time.

it could be as simple as a fuse and a bad gas cap. Take it to someone you trust and check it out if you can. Thats pretty low mileage so it will all work out for you. Welcome!

Also don't be afraid to kick and scream, 31,000 miles is hardly anything and a decent dealer should try and do all they can for you.

If your still not getting anywhere, I would suggest following the procedure in your manual and call GM, I am thinking they are more in the business of keeping customers more than ever now? Good Luck

If you are willing to learn, perhaps you can learn to fix these things yourself?

It costs money to buy tools and books. And takes time to learn these things. But in the long run it is a big savings.

Might want to start with the brake lights.

Basically the tools for electrical repairs are a multimeter and a factory service manual set which would have the electrical diagrams of the vehicle in it. Then there are books on automotive repair and electrical troubleshooting, but a lot of this information is also on the internet. (But not the vehicle service manual set which can be ordered from a GM dealer.)

Might want to start with the fuses. There should be information about your fuses in your owners manual and usually printed under each fuse or on the fuse box cover. Here is a web page on how to check fuses...
