Purge Valve Install 2005 Colorado

So it looks like I have to pull my intake manifold to replace my purge valve to close out my P0449 engine light code.

 

Has anyone replaced their purge valve and am I missing something on replacing this? It is located aft of the alternator under the intake manifold. I guess I'll wait for the starter to go or sell the truck.

 

Major design disappointment, I hope the new GM gets the engineers out of the offices and in some garages.
