Reprogram Ignition Accessory Position?

i just bought a 2004 chevy 2500hd. i posted this in the heavy duty section before i saw this section.

 

as it is now, the radio & power windows don't work when the key is turned to the accessory position. i called a dealer & was told to look in the owner's manual to find out how to reprogram it. i looked & sure enough it says that the key can indeed be turned to the accessory position. that's about as informative as it got.

 

is anybody familiar with what i am talking about?

I can't imagine that this would be programmable? Sounds to me like something is not working right.

 

Might want to see if there is a "personalization" section in the owner's manual.

In the Acc the PW should work (mine do) better look in your service manual and check out the Acc circuit.
